Get Active and Connect with Your Neighbours this June with the ParticipACTION Community Challenge
Are you looking to shake up your exercise routine, increase your movement, or get more involved in your community? We’ve got the perfect solution for you!
Nextdoor has teamed up with ParticipACTION for their annual Community Challenge, making it easier for you to get active with the people in your neighbourhood.
The ParticipACTION Community Challenge is a national physical activity and sport initiative that encourages everyone in Canada to get active in search of Canada’s Most Active Community. The Challenge kicks off June 1st and runs until June 30th.
Here’s how you can build a Community Challenge team in your neighbourhood:
- Download the ParticipACTION app and sign up for the Community Challenge.
- Make a post on Nextdoor, letting your neighbours know that you’re building a Community team.* Don’t forget to include your team code from the ParticipACTION app, and find neighbours to get moving with.
Every minute of movement logged in the ParticipACTION app will earn you points. The community with the most points will be crowned Canada’s Most Active Community.
Research shows that knowing as few as six neighbours can reduce feelings of loneliness and is linked to lowering depression, social anxiety, and financial concerns. Plus, being active can improve your thinking and boost your energy levels, making your life better.
Now’s the time to take the first step! Join the Community Challenge today and kick off the summer by getting active with your neighbours.
*Disclaimer: Nextdoor strongly recommends that you consult with your physician before beginning any exercise or physical activity.
