Nextdoor and RBC partner to connect local businesses with customers in their neighbourhoods

Written by #TeamNextdoor

With 84% of Nextdoor members saying they are more likely to shop local now than before COVID-19, it’s the perfect time to connect our members with their favourite local businesses.

It’s been a challenging year for local businesses and support from neighbours is essential for recovery. This is why together with RBC we’re launching ‘Open for Business’ a suite of tools giving verified local business owners new ways to share important information with their local neighbourhood. Local Businesses will be able to share one free update per month (three if they are an RBC customer) with neighbours and now be able to pay to promote a local deal to neighbours living around their business. As part of our partnership RBC business clients will be able to claim two additional business posts and one free local deal, visit the ‘Open for Business’ site for more details.

Stay in-the-know

Local businesses can now share updates on hours, new offerings, safety measures, and more. If you own a business, take advantage of this free feature now. Nextdoor members can react or reply to a Business Post or message the business owner directly. But don’t worry, your neighbourhood newsfeed remains private. While businesses are able to see comments on their own posts, they will not be able to see any neighbour-to-neighbour conversations.

Recommend your favourites

Recommendations on Nextdoor help your neighbours discover the most loved businesses in your neighbourhood. Support your favourite local business by leaving them a recommendation. Make sure to tag them if you mention them in a post asking for a recommendation too!
